Little River - General Area Info
Known as a quaint fishing village, Little River is located on the North and South Carolina border and its historic waterfront lines the Intracoastal Waterway. As one of the oldest villages in the state, Little River has a rich history dating back to late 1600 and 1700s when pirates and sea travelers sought refuge and farmers vacationed in the summers.
Modern day Little River offers a slower paced lifestyle with less traffic and activity than its neighboring beach communities. It’s widely known for deep sea fishing, charter boats, and commercial fishing. Since the 90’s economic re-development, the area has boomed including a new post office, consolidated schools, a medical center, an active chamber of commerce, and golf courses leading to increased residential activity including new single family homes and condominiums.
