CRG Construction | Myrtle Beach Home
Renovation turns to new construction for this Myrtle Beach home
This recently completed Myrtle Beach home designed and constructed by the CRG team began as a renovation project. Like many, especially on new home purchases, once the remodel work begins issues arise that are impossible to detect ahead of the project. Often these unforeseeable problems make renovations more expensive and cumbersome than a new construction home. For this 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath beach home, our team quickly realized that the original home was poorly constructed and building new would be a more viable option for the homeowners.
The CRG team then worked with the homeowners to create a design that would replicate the previous home structure keeping with the unique floorplan that was designed to allow for natural light and scenic views from the main living spaces.
Our team utilized multiple exterior finishes to create a multi-dimensional style with unique accents. To achieve this look Hardie fascia and soffit, board and batten siding, and a grey stucco finish were combined. The roof is built to last with Timberline GAF HD asphalt shingles. Custom wood brackets on the corners of the 2nd floor coordinate with the front door as well as interior reclaimed accent pieces.
The expansive 2nd floor porch is accessible from both the main living area and master bedroom, offering additional opportunity to enjoy the outdoors as well as adding character to the exterior.
This beach home is complete with a roof top sun deck expanding over the roof providing an excellent outdoor space for entertaining and the best view of the ocean.
An outdoor shower was added for beach goer convenience.
A concrete driveway offers access to the front, side and back of the home allowing for ample parking space. The back staircase allows access to both the rear 2nd floor porch and rooftop deck.
The main living areas including the kitchen, dining, and master suite are located on the second level of the home to provide the homeowner with optimal views of the Atlantic ocean.
The kitchen features Kenmore stainless steel appliances, white oak cabinetry and quartz countertops in sleek, concrete gray with a custom subway tile backsplash that includes an American Olean mosaic accent.
Our custom craftsman was commissioned to create a beautiful center island in the kitchen using reclaimed wood salvaged from the inside of the original home before the demolition.
An open floor plan with numerous windows provide ample natural light in the main living area. As a permanent statement piece, our craftsman designed a custom bookcase and entertainment center made from reclaimed wood to compliment the rustic style of the kitchen island.
Mohawk harmon engineered hardwood flooring in steel maple is throughout the house.
The master suite opens to the second floor porch with french doors and includes a spacious bathroom with walk-in master closet.
The master bathroom includes an over-sized counter with dual sinks and a beautiful stand up shower. Floor to ceiling Chesapeake linen tile in taupe covers the shower and extends to the flooring throughout the space.
The walk in-master closet is located through the bathroom to maximize space in the room.
A spacious screened in porch sits off the back of the kitchen on the second level designed to offer a feeling of seclusion from the layer of mature trees surrounding the space. Fiberon decking and walnut stained wood beadboard ceiling are features of the porch.
The ground floor includes 3 bedrooms, a laundry room and mud room.
