Bolivia Real Estate Market

The city of Bolivia is small, but it is growing. This is due to some new development in the city, including homes that have more value than in the surrounding area. For those who wish to buy a home here, the median home price, as of April of 2019 is $340,000. Home values have risen over the last few years, due to new development.

Nearly all of the homes for sale in Bolivia are single-family properties. However, there are several condos for sale in the area as well. Many of the homes sit in quaint neighborhoods, some of which are still rather rural with more natural forested areas. Still, this community is small, at under a square mile in size. That makes large homes less common here.

As of April of 2019, there are about 130 homes listed for sale. However, the vast majority of these are open lots ready for building. There are some properties for sale, including smaller homes with two-bedrooms and two-bathrooms. It is also possible to find starter homes here valued at around $140,000. The vast uniqueness of the area and the undeveloped components of it make the median sale price here misleading. It’s quite possible to purchase a lot of land for $10,000 to build a custom home on. Or, a new construction, just completed home may be valued at about $300,000 right next door.

Some of the best homes for sale here are colonials. Others are ranches and bungalows. The area is still being developed, which means the options are endless for those looking for something specific. Some area home builders include Joy Construction Company, Firetti Builders, and CL Smith Construction, Inc.

Bolivia Community Amenities

What makes Bolivia so important is that it is at the crossroads of Wilmington and Myrtle Beach, providing residents with easy access to the ocean, Intracoastal Waterway, and the many amenities these tourism-centric communities have to offer. It does have a few smaller parks itself and, though the community is being developed, it remains nearly completely residential.

Bolivia Community Highlights

  • U.S. Highway 17 was moved away from the city in the 1960's, which created a significant change in the way people drove in the region, virtually eliminating retail development in the city of Bolivia.
  • The Faircloth Zoo is located nearby.
  • There are a handful of restaurants and smaller retail stores available in the city, though it is mostly residential.
  • Brunswick Community College is located just on the outskirts of the city, providing the local community with secondary education.
  • The area is about 50 miles from the oceanfront itself.

Bolivia School Information

Residents with students in Bolivia, North Carolina are likely to send them to schools in the Brunswick County School District. This may include Bolivia Elementary School. There are other public and private schools in the cities surrounding Bolivia.

For home buyers looking for a small neighborhood to build a new home in or an area that is rather quiet, Bolivia is a good fit overall. Residents benefit from having a very small city and being able to know everyone in town. However, this is a competitive real estate market in terms of the overall options in ready-to-move-into homes. With a range of home prices, it may be a good fit for those looking to build or buy new construction.
